We would like to start our interview by getting to know you. Could you briefly tell us about yourself and your professional career? Of course, I was born in Izmir in 1984. I graduated from Başkent University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. After a few years of experience as an interior architect in the sector, I founded Monodesign in 2012 with my wife Nihal Demir. We have been in our o ice in Alsancak since our establishment. We continue our activities as an interior design project and application company. What is the importance of architecture in swimming pool projects where many professional disciplines work together? How would you define a design-perfect swimming pool? As in all vital areas, architecture plays an important role in pool projects. Combining the right location, right sizing, right design and material choices with the right pool circulation techniques should be well planned. A pool where these criteria come together and where users are satisfied in terms of both ambiance and hygiene will give pleasure to everyone. "Antique Grey was a good choice to give the pool a natural, tropical atmosphere." We see that you used Serapool Antique Grey porcelain pool tiles at Monk Boutique Hotel Alaçatı. Is there a special reason for choosing this color? While designing Monk, our goal was to create a relaxing, simple but with touches of balance in harmony with the architecture of Alaçatı. Antique Grey was a good choice to give the pool a natural, tropical feel. "As a designer, I pay attention to the details of the joints and transitions of the products to be well solved. I see this diversity in Serapool products." As a space designer, which elements do you pay attention to when choosing products? Actually, we can talk about many components here. Liking, compatibility with the concept is very important. Material quality and safety are a must. Good solution of product finish and transition details also adds value to the work. As a designer, I pay attention to the fact that the combination and transition details of the products are well solved as well as having many di erent styles and sizes of product options in pool tiles.
