Contribution of Hotel Pools to Tourism - Serapool
What criteria do you consider when choosing the material you will use in the pool? For us, it is very important to produce the detail we want, the intonation we want. Finishes are very important. For example, it is very advantageous to be able to finish with the same material. That's why we like to thin the thickness of the finishes. The first pools we made were completely exposed concrete pools, which I like very much. The relationship between exposed concrete and water is amazing. I mean, you see water that is almost as clear as water in a glass, it's a very exciting thing, but it has a lot of di iculties. More than maintenance di iculties, there are manufacturing di iculties. For a while, we started to use combed mosaic in the pools, but problems such as concrete cracks and its appearance on the surface, poor cleaning of the mosaic, and the formation of algae when it is not cleaned are not desirable, especially in the tourism sector, because it takes a lot of time to clean it. At that time we switched to natural stones. My favorite natural stone has always been quartzite. But we always had the same problem with quartzite, that is, when they are very porous, they cause maintenance di iculties. In fact, we were exaggerating, we were not using the stones at the same level. We were using one low and one high. So we did everything we could to make the businesses su er. With natural stone, there is a risk of not being able to get the same material again. If not, have it dismantled and redone. Take another look at the insulation and so on, and after a while we started to have di iculties. We started to force the system. We had a lot of di iculties in this process. After many problems such as the aging of the pools we built, which we still love and visit from time to time, maintenance di iculties, the stones changing their performance over time, the lack of production in a certain standard, the fact that a vein that we should not use in the water was encountered but it was used, our cooperation with Serapool showed that we can work with di erent textures, we can even produce our own textures. We don't use Serapool's products as a copy of stone, but as a texture and an opportunity where the radiation changes with the sun and the coloration changes. Therefore, Serapool has become a good solution partner for us in terms of pool porcelains.
